PUBLIC CORPORATION

PUBLIC CORPORATION
(государственная корпорация) Государственная компания, организованная с целью оказания услуги в масштабах страны (например, Британская радиовещательная корпорация-Би-Би-Си) либо для управления национализированной отраслью (например, Британская угольная корпорация, прежде называвшаяся Национальным управлением угольной промышленности). Председатель и члены правления государственной корпорации обычно назначаются соответствующим министром, который осуществляет общий контроль за ее деятельностью и отвечает перед парламентом. Государственная корпорация стремится увязывать подотчетность государству в плане использования государственных финансовых средств со свободой текущей коммерческой деятельности и с максимальным учетом интересов общества в целом.
